Thermafuse - May 9, 2007

Back in February I met this amazingly talented RRFC camper named Jared Stamey. His nickname around camp was "Mini-Steve Vai" because he played such a mean electric guitar. I told him he should definitely consider going to Berklee for college!
Anyway, he also had the most gorgeous head of long red hair I'd ever seen; turns out his dad Van is the CEO for a haircare line called Thermafuse based in North Carolina.
I hooked up with Van about a month ago to be the hair "guinea-pig" at a large hairshow convention at Javits here in NYC. I am now ADDICTED to the products, and the head-stylist, Cosmo. He used the inspiration of a Mallard duck's feathers to color my hair with a state-of-the-art spraying procedure, and cut my boring brown hair into a beautiful, face-framing (and slimming) cut. I've never had so many compliments on my hair!

Life in NYC - March 31, 2007

Hello all,
life in NYC is a blast, but definitely a lot of hard work! The band has been gigging as much as possible, and since the move we've acquired a few new members: Aki Ishiguro on guitar, and Elena Canlas on keys. When I'm not gigging, I spend the majority of my time as the Director of Sales for Rock 'n Roll Fantasy Camp. We just recently went to Los Angeles for a five-day camp in February, and you wouldn't believe the high caliber of stars we got to work with: Bruce Kulick and Paul Stanley (KISS), Mickey Hart (The Grateful Dead), the one-and-only Brian Wilson (Co-Founder of the Beach Boys), Dickey Betts (Allman Brothers), Simon Kirke (The Bad Company), Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger), Sandy Gennaro (Bo Diddley), and many others! Managing Bruce and Kelly's camper bands was a dream, they were the nicest bunch of rock stars I've ever met. Next up is London in May, and I can't wait. Check out www.rockandrollfantasycamp.com to get more info.
I've been writing a bunch of new songs, and promise to unveil them shortly. Until then, take care, and feel free to join me on my birthday (April 2nd) to watch the Bryan Baker Quartet perform at The Bitter End! :)

I'm Employed!! (And We Have CD's!) - June 13, 2006

This just in: 92.9 WBOS radio station, where I completed my internship, just hired me for the street team!
In other news, I am still doing the music listings for The Improper Bostonian, which is one of the best internships I could ask for. The wedding season is starting to pick up for Airtight, which is good news since I'll be moving to New York in the fall and will need the money; plus, I'm a big dork who loves to sing "Take on Me" and "Sweet Thing," and cry when people get married!
Probably the biggest thing that has happened recently is my album just came out. I am currently planning a CD release party, so check the website often because it should be posted soon! Love y'all!
Katie :)
